FGA Preschool Curriculum

Our Christian curriculum features Fun Shine Christian Online and Abeka for preschool, designed for each child's age and needs to build Christian character. The main program used at FGA is Frog Street Curriculum for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and VPK classrooms. This research-based curriculum focuses on key areas: social/emotional growth, cognitive development, adaptive skills, and fine/gross motor skills.

FROG STREET COMPONENTS

GREETING CIRCLE

Each day starts with a Greeting Circle where a sense of community is built using strategies of Conscious Discipline.

READ-ALOUD TIME

This reading strategy increases student vocabulary, increases concept development and teaches comprehension strategies.

MORNING MESSAGE

The morning meeting introduces concepts of print, phonological awareness and alphabet knowledge as well as prepares the children for the day’s activities

LITERACY LESSON

A language rich environment is supported through high quality literature, vocabulary cards and picture cards as well as 34 magnetic story board stories and pieces.

MOVING & LEARNING

Strong embedding of music and movement activities in the Frog Street curriculum encourages optimal learning in a playful way.

MATH & SCIENCE

A mathematical foundation in the areas of number and operations, geometry, measurement, data analysis and algebraic thinking. Frog Street uses daily hands on games in small groups.

CLOSING CIRCLE

During the Closing Circle, teachers review the day's activities and events using reflective questioning..

Toddlers Program

24-36 Months

As two-year-olds strive for independence, we offer safe choices to keep their days as predictable as possible and support their individuality. By following their interest, we encourage curiosity and creativity while building their self-esteem.

Our curriculum is designed to meet the growth needs including social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs. It also develops, supports, and encourages positive relationships between teachers, children and families.

Your two-year-old will be able to progress skills with fun and challenging activities that promote all aspects of development while giving lots of love, smiles and attention

Early Preschool Program

3-4 Years Old

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our early preschool program fosters that confidence by providing activities to help your child become problem solver and a life long learner.

Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, your child will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A fun physical education experience including running, jumping, and dancing will be in your child's daily program.

Your three-year-old will listen to stories, love books, sing songs, play games, make-believe in our dramatic play center, build block towers, crate art, dance to music, and much more…    

Preschool Program

4 Years Old

The year before kindergarten is a time of transition for a four year-old. As your child reaches four years of age, is capable of handling many basic self-help skills. However, to keep growing and learning, your child will need new experiences and challenges.

Our structured curriculum and activities highlights a variety of concepts that your child will be exposed to. Our phonics based approach teaches children letters,sounds and pre-reading skills. We also encourage structured pre-writing and math skills.

Through our curriculum your child will acquire good grammar and a rich vocabulary that will set the foundations for pre-kindergarten.

VPK Program
